Kotopola Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd, established in 1971, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2021, marking a proud milestone. It serves as an exemplary model in Sri Lanka's cooperative landscape, with a legacy rooted in the dedication of its staff.
The leadership of Mr. Bandu Ranawaka, spanning 18 years, was pivotal in driving extensive development and creating a robust business environment on both national and international fronts. The establishment of the Coop Lanka Tea Factory by Mr. Mahinda Vidana Pathirana further fortified the cooperative's success.
Acknowledgment extends to past honorary chairmen, board members, and the tireless contributions of individuals like former General Manager Mr. Walter Dahanayake and Mr. Sumandasa Ranatunga. Over five decades, the cooperative achieved remarkable milestones, maintaining a monthly turnover of approximately 20 crores, thanks to the diligent work of its Board of Directors, the General Manager, and all employees.
